NEW
STUPID POLL FOR YOUR POLLING PLEASURE
~~~~Yes...the
regular STUPID poll is back with it's SIX installment! And it's
got something to do with our favourite co-ed!! YAY!!!
~~~~Results
and comments of STUPID POLL 5 (if u are a first timer and dunno
what is going on...TOO BAD or look here)....From
the mouth of the Co-ed himself:
~~~~"In
this stupid poll No. 5, the vast majority of the bears received
one vote each. It appears that we all vote along partisan lines
ie. everyone voted for himself. Are you guys shameless or what?
Ok, so I voted for myself too, but this is no excuse for you to
do likewise. (I have diplomatic immunity.) And who are the 2 other
crazies who voted for me?? Actually I was hoping THE BEAR or Ber
or Small Bear would win.. The fact that Coco Bear won confirms what
I have always suspected: we Dasch people are really stupid and have
no class at all. (Hey don't kill me - I have diplomatic immunity.)
The full stats and figures are as follows.. "
- CoCo
Bear (no. of votes: 3)
- Cynical Bear
(2), THE BEAR (2), Beanie Bear (2), Bearsh*t (2),
- Big Bear
(1), Physio Bear (1), Small Bear (1), Horny Bear (1), Mushy Bear
(1), Teddy Bear (1), Angry Bear (1), Cheeky Bear (1)
- Pyscho Bear
(0), XXL Bear (0)
However, as our winner is our very own co-editor, so no prize for
THE
SAD STATE OF DASCH ROVERS FC
~~~~More
on the SUNDAY FC invitation to play a match on 14/11/99 Sun or 28/11/99
Sun.
~~~~"No
worry regarding the pitch and the referee , I will arrange it. The
cost will be split among the 2 teams as usual You can inform me
once you get your replys, no worry. But dont drag till very late
as I need to get replacement team in case your team unable to make
it. " ...exact email from a SUNDAY FC player to Dasch Rovers.
~~~~Why
the headlines? Cos Dasch Rovers will probably have to turn down
the invitation. With one of the most regularly updated webpage and
so called fanatic players (who are incidently together for close
to 7-8 years), we can't afford to pay the fees ~50 for a proper
match.
~~~~The
captain has refused to come out with the money from his own pocket.
He is fed up that some irresponsible people are still not paying
up their jersey money that is owned to him. "It's okay if they
say that they dun have the money and will pay up even if that takes
place when they are working...but NO! They refuse to admit!"...words
from the Captain.
~~~~Other
major factors that the invitation has to be turned down: 1) Even
if we pay for the pitch and referee, our players will be late and
the allocated 2 hours for pitch and referee will be up. 2) Some
irresponsible players will say that they will turn up and in the
end do a disappearing act.
~~~~Dasch
will not play against a seasoned team unless the full strength team
turns up.
~~~~Today
newsletter serves as an info about the sad state of a so called
"pioneer" social team from RI.

A
PEACE MAKING MISSION..CO-EDITOR SAYS
~~~~"
I'll cut out
all my usual stupid jokes... this is a (rare) serious commentary
from the co-editor. Well, our captain is extremely disillusioned
with the state of our team, and he shows it very clearly in the
latest newsletter. Just to say, let's ask ourselves: how serious
and committed are we to Dasch as a football team? Maybe some regard
it as something to take part in when you have nothing better to
do... or just a lousy two-bit side... or whatever reason? If so,
tell the captain there and then, and spare him all the heartache.
~~~~Personally
I'm back in the team again after quite some time out cos I love
playing soccer, in spite of my incredibly lousy skills and complete
lack of fitness.. but I'm now making the effort to train up by myself.
I find it real hard to get a game elsewhere (everyone else I know
seems too caught up with studies, making money and other adult stuff),
so I appreciate having a team to call my own and play with, however
irregularly. This is also why I'm taking the time and effort to
contribute to the website.. I want to feel I'm doing my part ..given
my lack of contribution on the field.
~~~~Also,
regarding the payment for the jerseys... I think it's ridiculous
that it has dragged on for so long. I thought everyone paid up already.
Now I don't know much about the details - the cost of the kit, how
much money is at stake, who hasn't paid and so on.. heck, I don't
even own the latest Dasch jersey. So I'm very much ignorant about
this matter. But it's hard to believe any of us are that poor...
I know friends should not quibble over money ("Money only what...
what's it compared to friendship?" etc etc), but is this a valid
reason not to pay up? Did Kenneth say he has struck the lottery
and will sponsor the jerseys or something? (If he did, you can be
sure I'll be the 1st in the queue for the free kit. Ha! Just joking.)
Well, I find the whole affair very stupid. I don't understand the
problem.. is it sissy to pay what you owe? Of course if you have
good reasons not to pay, do tell your side of the story. The rest
of the Dasch guys (including me) may act stupid.. but we are definitely
not stupid.. and we'll give you a fair hearing.
~~~~Do
the decent thing: Settle your debts, take the matches seriously,
turn up on time, and turn up if you say you will. Sorry for the
harsh words.. I really hate to write all these.. cos I'm a gutless
coward who fears to offend people... who usually don't dare risk
his neck.. who always try to get along with everyone... and I feel
damn uneasy and reluctant to lecture people (my leadership and diplomatic
skills are zero).. but sometimes certain things need to be said.
~~~~Come
on... Let's settle things nicely, shake hands and just get on with
it. "
